About Apex 40
Apex 40 is all about continuing the fellowship and basically having a good time with our enduring friendships that we formed many years ago. We are also about welcoming into the fold, past Apex families, past Apex partners and members of the community who have given up their time to volunteer community work and want to join our family.
Apex 40 members are located all around the country, and we have some strong connections with similar clubs in New Zealand, India and New Caledonia.
Where there are several Apex 40 members living within close proximity to each other, they usually form committees to have local social get togethers usually each month or so, with a view to maintain and foster friendships, and occasionally providing some assistance to Apex Clubs.
Each year, Apex 40 members gather from around the country to attend the annual convention which we call 'The Rort' which lasts almost a week, during this time there is a brief interruption to the festivities to conduct the necessary formality of the Annual General Meeting which generally last no longer than about 40 minutes. Several members get together before and after the RORT to start the fellowship whilst on the road travelling to the RORT.
To gain more of an idea of what it is about, have a look at the Roaring 40s newsletter which is published three times a year. The newsletter provides information on Apex 40 activities and items of interest from around the committees, and a link is found on the main page.
Membership is open to all past members of Apex, their partners, families and members of affiliated clubs or members (past & present) of a similarly minded organisation with strengths in community service.
Note: Membership requires approval from the Apex 40 board and must comply with the current constitution.
