Running a local group

A quick checklist for the secretaries and treasurers who keep each group ticking.

Key date

31 January

Send the year's national fees and your members' details to the Secretary or Treasurer.

  • Let the Secretary know who your office bearers are each year.
  • Send the dates of upcoming get-togethers to our Membership Director at membership@apex40.com, so the board can share them and come along where they can.
  • Post your photos and news in the members' Facebook group.
  • Emailing several members? Address it to yourself and BCC everyone else, so private addresses stay private.
  • Your group can use the Apex 40 Australia name, or its own name with Apex 40 acknowledged. Any other use of the emblem needs National Board approval, and it isn't for commercial use.

Role to fill

Rort Co-ordinator

Helping the board plan future Rorts. You won't be doing it alone.

Put your hand up

Have your say

The AGM is held at the Rort. Proposed rule changes are emailed to all members beforehand, so please read them and send your comments before you go.

Hosting a Rort

Thinking your group could host? Here's how it works.

  1. Step 1: Start two years out

Planning starts about two years before the Rort.

  2. Step 2: Nominate your group

Your group nominates to the National Board, and members vote at the AGM.

  3. Step 3: Work with the board

The National Vice President joins your committee as the link to the board.

  4. Step 4: Keep the books simple

The National Treasurer approves your budget, all money runs through Apex 40's accounts, and Rorts aim to break even.
